Caterer Will Serve Lunch, Recipes and Stories

Milwaukee chef Lisa McKay will serve lunch and discuss her recipes along with her culinary career at the first general meeting of the year on Thursday, Oct. 5, at noon.

The menu will feature chicken marsala with mushrooms in wine sauce, herbed rice and asparagus spears. Dessert will be cheese cake with homemade berry topping. Cost is $15.  Please go to reservations@wauwatosawomansclub.com to reserve a place.

Lisa has been the owner of Lisa Kaye Catering since 2007 and was selected Chef of the Year by the American Catering Federation in 2015.  As chair of its chef and child committee, she is a leader in the organization’s efforts to fight obesity and promote healthy eating among children.  Lisa also mentors culinary students and helps them complete required field experience.

 She is a graduate of the Milwaukee Area Technical College culinary arts program and a Wauwatosa Woman’s Club member.

“Beauty and the Beast” to Appear At Ice Cream Social Evening

The Wauwatosa Children’s Theatre Players will present “Beauty and the Beast” at the club’s Oct. 19 meeting.  Guests will have the chance to meet cast members after the production at an ice cream social.

The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the play will be at 6:30 p.m. followed by the ice cream social at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required.  Please call Kay at 414-254-4507 or email reservations@wauwatosawomansclub.com.

The play is based on a fairy tale in which the beautiful Belle falls in love with an enchanted beast.  The Children’s Theatre of Wauwatosa will stage the story at Longfellow Middle School Oct. 21 as the first production of its season.
