Two Wauwatosa shops will work together to show us the art of pairing chocolate with a variety of wines at the club’s afternoon tea on Feb. 1. The event begins at 1 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Ruby Tap will introduce varieties of wine that enhance different types of chocolate.
Jim Niemann will bring samples of several of his products that complement various wines.
Niemann’s Chocolates and Candies has created homemade candy and ice cream in Wauwatosa since 1919. Using family recipes passed down through the generations, Jim has developed and improved hundreds of creations while allowing the business to maintain its historical roots.
A self-service wine bar opened by Brooke Boomer is 2012, The Ruby Tap offers 70 wines by the bottle, and 32 wine machines for patrons to try. It has seating for 38 people and a comfortable ambiance inspired by Brooke’s love of California’s Napa Valley. The bar also sponsors special events and has a wine club with more than 150 members.
