REGULATIONS FOR BUILDING RENTAL

Max Capacities: The upper level maximum capacity is 157; the lower level is 64 if seated; 89 if chairs only.

Payments/Due Dates: To reserve an event date, 1/2 of the total amount must be paid. It is non-refundable. The balance is due six weeks before the reserved date. A separate damage deposit of $600 is due 30 days before event. If set-up and clean-up takes more time than specified in the Lessee’s contract, additional charges will be deducted from the damage deposit. The damage deposit will be returned within two weeks after the event if the club determines that the Lessee has complied with all of its regulations.

Cancellation/Refunds: The Lessee is required to give notice of cancellation at least three weeks prior to the event. One half of the rental fee and the full damage deposit fee will be returned to the Lessee within three weeks of cancellation. If cancellation notice is not given at least three weeks prior to the event, then the entire rental fee will be non-refundable. Only the damage deposit fee will be returned to the lessee.

Vendor Insurance and Licenses (For those vendors who are not already on our files):

  1. Caterers/Food: Caterers must provide WWC a copy of their certificate of liability insurance at least three weeks prior to the event. The rental committee must approve the caterer. The caterer (or Lessee) must furnish all utensils, dishes, towels and table linens. Catering by family or friends also must be approved by the club’s rental committee.
  1. Liquor/Wine/Beer: The Wauwatosa Woman’s Club does not have a liquor license. Hard liquor is not permitted on the premises unless provided by a licensed bar service. Bartender Services must provide WWC a copy of their certificate of liability insurance at least three weeks prior to the event. The Lessee will forfeit the entire damage deposit if hard liquor is served by an unlicensed person. Wine and malt beverages may be served if approved by the rental committee.
  1. Music/DJs: Bands and DJs must be approved by the club’s rental committee or the house committee. The WWC does not provide any microphones or other electrical equipment for bands or DJs. All music must end by 11 p.m.

Décor: Rice, glitter, confetti, birdseed, bubbles, etc. are not permitted in the clubhouse or on the premises. Decorations are limited to table decorations. Tacks, string, and tape may not be used on walls, woodwork, lighting fixtures or stage curtains. Candles must be in glass containers. All event décor is provided by the Lessee or their vendor. Decorative items on display in the clubhouse may not be used or removed. Antique tables also may not be used by renters. Damage to the WWC’s property will result in forfeiture of part or all of the Lessee’s damage deposit.

General Rules: No weapons and no unlawful activities are allowed on the club’s premises. No smoking inside any part of the clubhouse is allowed. No subletting is allowed

Lessee’s Responsibilities: The Lessee is solely responsible for guests’ conduct, for personal belongings, such as purses. and for damage caused by lessee, guests, caterers or service personnel. The Clubhouse must be empty of guests, caterers and entertainment by midnight. Violating the time limits may result in damage deposit forfeiture.
