The May Breakfast will feature 20 “mad hot” dancers from Wauwatosa’s Roosevelt Elementary School on Thursday, May 18.
The fifth grade students are part of the innovative, educational Danceworks Mad Hot Ballroom and Tap Program. It uses dance to help students improve social skills, learn respect for themselves and others, and improve their attitudes toward physical activity.
Peggy Parr, general music teacher at Roosevelt, will direct them. Roosevelt was one of the first schools to sign up for Mad Hot 10 years ago. Today, the students perform both in and outside of school at nursing homes, restaurants, and other venues as well as participating in area wide competitions.
The event will begin at noon. Cost is $15.
